Zinc Nickel Plating

BFG has 3 automated production lines offering the full range of capabilities commercially available today.  All lines provide high nickel content to meet the most stringent specifications and acid based or alkaline based chemistry is used.  We provide approved processing for Chrysler, Ford, GM, Daimler, and many industrial specifications.

Zinc Nickel Alloy Plating will deliver up to 2000 hour salt spray performance to red corrosion.  It is provided in a ROHS compliant package by BFG with trivalent chromates.  Zinc Nickel provides performance for the cost premium relative to zinc and cadmium plating.  Zinc Nickel can also provide high temperature corrosion protection about 500 f where many other finishes begin to fall off in performance.  Common specifications for zinc nickel are found throughout vehicle manufacturing industry and ASTM B841 or AMS 2417.

BFG offers both barrel and rack plating along with chloride or alkaline plating baths.  This variety lets us offer the best fit for any application.  We can achieve high alloy % if required or better ductility if bending or crimping is required.

We offer both clear and black trivalent chromates for ROHS compliance.

Below is from Open Wiki:

Zinc Nickel Alloy Plating often specified as ASTM B841 or AMS 2417 provides exceptional corrosion resistance on steel out performing zinc or electro-galvanized plating and has comparable corrosion protection to cadmium.

Zinc Nickel out performs other zinc alloys for corrosion protection at elevated temperatures of 500F and is capable of 800+ hours salt spray protection until red rust in accordance ASTM B117 5% neutral salt spray testing.

The coating has increased wear and abrasion resistance while resisting zinc whiskering. BFG has automated to process high production runs making this finish cost effective while maintaining the highest quality standards and achieving outstanding coating performance.
